Bid Package for LRIP project – Bestul road

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS:
Contractor is responsible for all traffic control. This consists of barricading, flagging, and advanced
signage consistent with Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). Low Shoulder signage
shall be provided by the Contractor.

Ditching/Clearing and Grubbing
Re-grade ditches for drainage.

Culvert Work
Remove and replace (1) 24″ HDPE culvert 34′ in length
Remove and replace (1) 15″ HDPE culvert 32′ in length
and associated work.

Pulverizing Existing Pavement
Pulverize the existing asphalt. Re-lay pulverized material for base.

Adding Dense Graded Base
Furnish and install 4 inches of dense graded base material to a width of 25 feet.

Prep and Paving
Pavement will 20 feet in width. Must include a 12’ approach into Olson Rd.
Finish grade, water, and compact the base course material.
Pave with WisDOT Spec. Type 4 LT 58-28S asphalt mix compacted to an average thickness of 2-1/2
inches thick.

Shouldering
Furnish and install 100% Fractured ¾ inch dense graded base course material for 2 foot gravel
shoulders.

The above items and estimated quantities are anticipated to complete the work on Bestul Rd.
Bidder will be required to provide the Town with weigh tickets for asphalt and base course items.
Asphalt and base course items will be paid on a per ton basis for actual tons placed up to, but not
exceeding the tonnages shown on this bid form. This contract is a not to exceed contract without
PRIOR written authorization of the Town Chairman.

BIDDING PROCEDURE:
All bidders must complete this proposal form and submit it in a sealed envelope identified as “BESTUL ROAD”. Sealed bids are due by 6:30 p.m. DECEMBER 13, 2023 at the TOWN OF AMHERST TOWN HALL located at 4023 COUNTY ROAD Q, AMHERST JUNCTION and will be opened during the meeting. Bids may also be mailed to_TOWN OF AMHERST, P.O. BOX 5, AMHERST JUNCTION, WI 54407. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 30 days after the scheduled bid opening.
